Hype: Every White Lie Has A Dark Truth

I've been keeping this under my hat for a while now, but there's no point in holding it back any longer as it's only a matter of time before he's EVERYWHERE.

mnek (pronounced EM-EN-EE-KAY) may be only fourteen years old, but he's already producing tracks on par with some of the biggest names in Pop.

He has Execs practically queueing outside his front door, and his track Devil In Pumps was dropped on BBC 1xtra only minutes ago.

Believe me, the phrase 'Next Big Thing' was made for him.

Exclusive: Anti-Banger Association

Out this week on Ninja Tune is Tunnel, the debut EP from Shuttle aka Nate Donmoyer from Passion Pit.

To mark the occasion, Shuttle unleashed his track Rotten Guts (featuring the vocal talents of Cadence Weapon) on the blogsphere about a month ago.

Through the magical properties of my inbox and right on cue, Gold Panda is on the money again, adding his own flavour to the mix.

Hype: There's A Bomb That's Going Off

A band I'm currently doting over are South London duo The Mono.

It's been a good while since I've been even the slightest bit enthused with a guitar-led band, but it took one listen to IT'S ALL CLOCKWORK and I was hooked.

Although David R. Hanks and Aimee-Beth Warburton are relatively new to the game, they certainly know how to write a pop song, check it out.

Hype: A Night On The Stellas With The Fellas

Portrait by Philip Toledano

Splitting their time between Brighton and London are the new big hitters in the UK rap game - Surreal.

Consisting of producer and multi-instrumentalist Tim Rowkins and lyricist Laurence Allen, it's a collaboration that realy seems to bring out the best of their respective talents.

I'm completely sold, and apparently they are also being championed by Radio 1's 'indie' DJs Lamacq and Robinson, rightly so.

I'll let them explain a few reasons as to why alcohol is not for me.

In Motion: Something I Can't Fight

Name the Pet - Get On The Bus

Fresh from Sweden's apparently solid gold conveyor belt of pop talent is Stockholm's Name the Pet.

Unfortunately, details on the blonde pop starlet are thin on the ground as no one is sharing, but I'm pretty sure the invasion will start soon as she's playing Mirror Kisses at Queen Of Hoxton on 16th March so I suggest that if you can - attend.

P.S. Should I start a new 'Swedish Gold' tag for the ridiculous amount of Swedish music that I seem to post?

In Motion: I Killed Those Men With My Bare Hands

Dave.I.D. - Why Weren't The Message Sent

The debut single from London's Dave.I.D. is a dark and gritty psychedelic trip, the perfect soundtrack to relieve some recession induced angst.

Directed by artist Danny Sangra, the video for Why Weren't The Message Sent is just as dark, aggressive and disorientating - brilliant.
