We first shone a light on Abe a while ago, and today the torch burns in their direction again with this remix of How To Dress Well's Can't See My Own Face.

As influenced-admirers of Tom Krell's softly-softly approach, Abe delicately re-direct his bedroom R 'n' B deeper into late night Benzo oblivion; opting not to alter the arrangement dramatically, they simply stretch the original out, introducing extended and re-worked 'tro's and a little of the warped 90's soul sound they're quickly establishing as their own.

Lifting an already fragile vocal, it's re-laid loosely over loops old and new with a second-hand stickiness that leaves it sounding barely there, curled up at the edges, close to losing it's grip on a residual reality...

What the fuck am I talking about? What does that even mean? I'll tell you: nothing. You can make your own minds up, you don't need me chatting sixth-form shit @ U.

So then 2011, let's be having you. My first proper post of the year and it's a veritable IT love-in.

After introducing the wonderfully eccentric Evryone to the blog world back in August of last year, it seems fair that we offer the exclusive drop of the video for their début single Flamingos.

Such news would bring a smile to my face even at the worst of times, but that smile quickly turned to a grin once I heard that the video is directed by the ever multi-faceted Entrepreneurs, of whom I'm expecting a big year ahead.

We all know that I love a bit of Dave.I.D, so obviously I'm more than happy to share the news that he'll be releasing his Gangs EP on 31st January 2011, of which the above track is taken.

As usual it will be out on his own Off The Uncertain Button imprint, which has teamed up with K7! since his last release, and if you want to brave the current mind fuck that is Myspace you can hear the EP in its entirety here.

He'll also be performing some secret shows in London in the coming weeks as well as finishing up on preperations for his debut album.

Hype: Forever On The Run

London duo LEAGUE sound like they could have been shipwrecked on an uninhabited island, only to fashion instruments and inspiration from their untouched surroundings and return to civilisation both enlightened and triumphant.

It turns out I'm not that far off, as they tell me that they were two Journalism and Architecture students who decided to shun convention and further education and live in a tent on a beach. It's not known if this primeval experience lasted two days or two years but it certainly had a lasting effect on their music.

I don't know about you, but that's sounding like quite an attractive life choice right now, especially if the outcome sounds this good.

My favourite multifaceted collective Breton have announced details of their third release.

Counter Balance EP will be released on 6th December through Untold's Hemlock Recordings and will be available both digitally and on vinyl.

I can't find any pre-order links for the moment but you can stream three tracks including the lead track below.

Hype: You Don't know Me Anymore

Foolishly, starting a band never even occurred to me when I was sixteen. I'm pretty sure that at that age I spent most of my time listening to commercial house and trance and figuring out how I could get in to nightclubs to meet girls. But some twig on early, like Reading four-piece PEERS.

It might be too soon to go crazy on the hyperbole front but from the charm of the two self-recorded demos that are currently floating around the internet and the fact that I can't get enough of this guy's voice, we might well be hearing a lot more from them come the New Year.

For now though, they're a band still growing in to their own skin and I'm sure that playing a handful of gigs before the end of the year (including a headline slot at BBC Introducing Live in Reading on 3rd November) won't hurt either. Not bad considering half of them can't even apply for a provisional driving license yet.

As I write this October caves in around me, and the temperature takes ice-y tumbles outside, the fog of another flu descends and I search for a nook in which to curl up and sleep the day away. A place to sleep to rest my head again...

From little speakers escapes Mozart Parties, gently crooning a comforting lullaby about being a better person and I think yes, I am feeling better. This is better.

Just two months young, Mozart Parties is the work of one James Bennett - newly re-located, now lost amongst the wilderness of the Lake District - and a sampler. His carefully piecied together, harmony-rich pop puzzles are drenched in atmosphere and Wish My Thoughts Away serves as perfect introduction to his self-confessed studied approach to music-making.
