Plug: Love Is The Answer

So it seems Erol Alkan has been a busy man this year, but especially so in these past few months.

I might as well get the obvious spiel that he produced two of my favourite albums of 2008, released one of my tracks of the year in Fan Death's debut single Veronica's Veil and is still one of the best DJ's in the world out of the way, and fill non-obsessives in on what he's been up to.

Firstly, there's Phantasy's latest release; Dance Area's club banger AA/247. The single can be purchased here, along with remixes from Skull Juice, Starky and Noob. Check out the video which was directed by James Connolly aka Lvis 1990.

Then there's the latest remix from his collaboration with Richard Norris, Beyond The Wizard's Sleeve. It's a six minute something krautastic re-animation of Franz Ferdinand's third album teaser Ulysses. If you can get your grubby mitts on any of their EP's, do it. If not, get their latest offering at Rough Trade here.

Finally, there's his 'Simple, Yet Effective' edit of SebastiAn's Momy, which is just that. SebastiAn, along with Mr. Flash were my preferred members of Ed Banger until Pedro signed Mickey Moonlight, who has also remixed the track. Both will feature on a remix package which will be available soon.
